Barnaby Cottage is set in a beautiful countryside location very close to Lyme Regis. The town, seafront promenade and beach is easily reached by car and is also a picturesque 30-minute walking distance away. A cosy cottage for two, welcoming, with everything you would need for a memorable holiday. This delightful property has a well-equipped kitchen/diner and comfortable lounge with an electric flame-effect wood burner. The cottage is set in a peaceful location with additional outdoor seating beyond the sunny patio where it enjoys a picturesque setting and views across the valley.

Guests can meander down through fields and along the pleasant river walk to Lyme Regis within half an hour, or take the car and be at the bustling seafront and promenade in a few minutes. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which is now world-famous along the Jurassic Coast where people from across the world flock to hunt fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés. Its sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen.

Lyme Regis, nicknamed 'The Pearl of Dorset' lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and is near Charmouth and the Devon border. Lyme Regis is a historic seaside resort and fishing port and boasts breathtaking scenery, making it a resort for all seasons. The town is famous for its fossils, often found on its beaches and cliffs. In fact, it was in the cliffs that the famous Ichthyosaur was discovered by Mary Anning, the daughter of a local fossil collector. She went on to find a complete Plesiosaur and the well-preserved remains of a flying reptile. Book a fossil walks with local experts to ensure you are both safe and full of knowledge by the end. The famous harbour wall known as 'The Cobb' featured in the film and novel of The French Lieutenant's Woman.
