Highlights include the Harbour Heights Hotel, Haven Hotel, The Sandbanks Brasserie, The Jazz Cafe and The Beach Cafe. Although it is an expensive area there are lots of choices. The promenade also has a small variety of shops and cafes.

The easiest way to travel is on the Sandbanks Ferry, by car or on foot and is well worth the views. Sandbanks beach is one of the best in the area with fine golden sand and has held a European Blue Flag for over 20 years. The beach gently slopes into the water making it ideal for younger children and there are lifeguards on duty from May until September. Behind the beach lies both crazy golf and a mini-golf course. There is also a children's play area including sand diggers and a sensory area. The promenade also has a small variety of shops and cafes and during the summer months, a mini road train will take you up and down. There are many water-based activities available, including inflatable fun in the form of ringos.
