Cockleshell Lodge is tucked away in a residential street with its own secluded courtyard just a 5-minute walk to the beach in Weymouth. With all the accommodation on the ground floor, it is well situated to take advantage of all the shops, restaurants and cafes of the area without having to resort to the car. Weymouth has a wonderful curving arc of golden, sandy beach that has been awarded a Blue Flag award consistently over the years. Adjacent to the town it allows easy access to the shops, restaurants and cafes. But there is so much to see and do in the town. Relax in Greenhill Gardens, Nothe Gardens or at Radipole Lake and Gardens. Go on a Jurassic Safari to discover parts of Dorset you wouldn't find yourself, or explore the harbour area and go on a fishing trip. Discover the restaurants and cafes around Brewers Quay and Hope Square. Explore the history of the 19th century Nothe Fort or find out about our marine life at the Sea Life Centre. Be amazed at the creations at Sandworld Sculpture Park or have fun at Lodmoor Country Park.
The accommodation at Cockleshell Lodge is all on the ground floor and comprises of a lounge with dining area with TV, WiFi and a rectangular table with seating for four. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine as well as a range of accessories and utensils. There are two bedrooms arranged as a double and a twin and a shower room with basin and toilet. A cot can be provided upon request.
Outside is a private courtyard complete with seating. There is allocated off road parking for one car. Cockleshell Lodge accepts up to two well behaved, small dogs. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Weymouth is a busy seaside town and lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Weymouth's golden sandy beach has received the Quality Coast Award. This is because of good quality water, well-developed facilities and beach supervision. There are plenty of supermarkets and a variety of shops. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants, offering a range of cuisines. As a result, you are spoilt for choice. Weymouth is famous for its fresh seafood. You can often see the local fishermen unloading their daily catch from the Harbour. It is from the harbour that you can pick up boat tours. These include a tour of the Jurassic coast and a water taxi from Weymouth to Portland.
Weymouth Attractions and Activities
Lodmoor Country Park is fantastic for the children and adults to explore and rest for a picnic. In addition, try your hand at crazy golf or let the children drive in the little go-kart track. Let the children loose in the Pirate Ship Play Park or the Green Gym. Slide down the wonky slide or walk the dog through the woodland paths. RSPB Nature Reserve is next to Lodmoore Park displaying details of all the Marsh birds in the area. Also, there is a cafe for refreshments after all the exploring. Sandworld is by the cycle path at Lodmoor park. Be amazed at the awesome sculptures made by local artists. You can let the children take turns to make their own sand sculpture. The Sea Life Centre is full of marine animals and much much more. The Centre is jam-packed full of fun rides and activities for the children. There are also rides galore along the seafront with arcades that stay open in the evenings. A little train will take you along the length of the seafront. Here you will find Donkey rides on the beach are available. Punch and Judy play on the seafront during the summer. A short walk away is the Nothe Fort which holds events for both adults and children. Weymouth is well known for the Red Arrows display which happens on Carnival Day. You can watch the action from the beach and see the fireworks from the bay. At night, colourful lasers light up the seafront and the promenade. The Pavillion theatre holds regular live shows.
