Description

Surrounded by rolling countryside, the picturesque village of Symondsbury is the ideal base for days spent enjoying long walks or riding. The village itself has a vibrant centre, complete with pub, galleries and tea rooms and being situated near to the market town of Bridport, there is plenty to do here. Bridport has a varied selection of shops selling both essential supplies and vintage treasures, or head on to West Bay where you can watch the boats moving about the harbour or let off some steam on the beach. With good road links nearby, you can easily explore the many attractions lining the Jurassic Coast and admire the stunning scenery as you travel. A shared driveway leads to this detached cottage.

The main entrance can be found to the front of the property, accessed via a sloping gravel path that winds through the garden. Once inside you are met with an entrance hall giving access to the utility room, complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and WC, before heading into the inviting lounge. Full of character features, this welcoming room has an inglenook with a wood burner and TV for those chilly winter evenings in. Next, you will come to the charming country style kitchen/diner. This well-equipped space has an electric range style oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. When the day is done, take the winding stairs from the entrance hall to the first floor where you can choose from the four lovely bedrooms: a super king-size zip and link (which can be arranged as a twin on request), two king-size bedrooms (one with a TV,) and a single bedroom. Completing this floor is the stylish bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC, and a separate shower room.

Heading outside brings you into the pretty garden which sits mostly to the front and is staged across multiple levels. Immediately outside of the kitchen area, you will find a wonderful decked area with stunning views and the chance of spotting some of the resident wildlife, including woodpeckers. Here you can sit at the table and unwind with a drink or take a dip in the hot tub. Younger members of the family will enjoy racing around the generous lawns before taking a bounce on the trampoline. Off-road parking for two cars is available at the front of the property.

Bridport

Bridport is a small, busy market town on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The town has quite a few independent shops, a supermarket, cafes and restaurants. There are also local markets here each week. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, and museum. The museum includes an exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making amongst other exhibits. The town hosts the local food festival for a week at the end of June and ends with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August. Visit Palmers Thatched Brewery to sample local beers and ale. Explore Mangerton Mill which is still a working water mill, visit the tea rooms attached and finish off with a country walk by the river.
