Upstairs, the master bedroom boasts a king-size double bed and en-suite shower room, while the double is filled with natural light from the dual-aspect windows, offering views over the front and the sunny back garden. The twin room is ideal for those either travelling with little ones or a couple, while the family bathroom offers a deep-soaking bathtub to indulge after an adventure on the Jurassic Coast.
Enjoy a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on the patio to the front of the cottage and take in the picturesque scenery of the babbling river, with ducks swimming along it and the willow trees rustling in a cool summery breeze. Alternatively, spend a balmy afternoon barbecuing in the enclosed garden to the rear, which is a lovely sun trap with patio furniture and an elevated landscaped garden for the kids to play on.
Stroll over to the Springhead pub, which offers food all day and has a children's play area, for a refreshing drink to end the day, and for shops and other amenities, Preston is only a short walk away. You are in a fantastic location for touring the Dorset AONB and all that Weymouth has to offer, with its sandy beach, SEA LIFE Centre and a plethora of shops, pubs and eateries. Sutton Poyntz is a traditional, very pretty village on the edge of Weymouth. Dotted with beautiful thatched cottages, this village really is a picture postcard. The Springhead pub has traditional home-cooked food and a very friendly atmosphere. There are two other pubs within walking distance, The Spice Ship and The Bridge. Being pretty much on the edge of Weymouth, however, you will never have a problem with choice. There are no shops in Sutton Poyntz but two convenience stores very close by along Preston Road.
There are many events organised throughout the year from plant sales and a scarecrow competition to a village barbecue and a cream tea afternoon. If you need to work off some calories after such an event there are plenty of walks on your doorstep with great views over the Osmington White Horse and the Jurassic Coastline along the Dorset coast.
