Surrounded by walking opportunities and places to get out and about amongst Dorset’s diverse scenery, this retreat is perfect for both hardcore adventurers and leisurely strollers alike. Take your pick of country routes nearby, or head 8 miles away to explore Golden Cap and the gorgeous coast paths. Only 2 miles away, make sure you pop over to Hive Beach for seascapes and good food. Closer to home, the village is served by the local community pub, so you can enjoy a meal out in good company.

Come into the entrance hall and leave your coats and shoes. Before heading into the main hub of the home, you can browse the bookcases in the entrance hall and choose some reading material for evenings curled up on the sofa. There’s also a handy downstairs WC. From the entrance hall, you can access the light and airy lounge/dining room. Both spacious and cosy, the room has been finished with thoughtful details and has plenty of seating including a dining table with chairs for all the family. Whether you’re enjoying a relaxed morning or luxurious evening, warm your toes in front of the wood burner and switch on the TV for some added entertainment. With light flooding in from the windows and patio doors, it is a great space to kick back throughout the day. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, a fridge, a microwave and lots of pots and utensils, so you can find everything you need for meal preparations. There is also a dishwasher and a washing machine provided for extra convenience. Switch on the radio or open the door to the garden and listen to the melody of birdsong outside. Upstairs, there is an attractive family bathroom and three bedrooms. These include a king-size, a double and a twin with a rollaway bed which has slightly reduced head height in places.

Heading outside, there is a gravel courtyard to the rear of the cottage with outdoor seating and a BBQ. From here, gated steps lead up to pretty grass terraces where you can admire the views from the top. There is also a wooden doghouse and off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Bridport

Bridport is a small, busy market town on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The town has quite a few independent shops, a supermarket, cafes and restaurants. There are also local markets here each week. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, and museum. The museum includes an exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making amongst other exhibits. The town hosts the local food festival for a week at the end of June and ends with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August. Visit Palmers Thatched Brewery to sample local beers and ale. Explore Mangerton Mill which is still a working water mill, visit the tea rooms attached and finish off with a country walk by the river.
