Situated in a slightly elevated position behind the old harbour in Weymouth is this pretty terraced, traditional stone cottage, cosy yet contemporary and beaming with character. Tucked away in it's central Weymouth location, in walking distance to many alfresco restaurants, cafes and bars from which you can unwind and watch the boats go by in the harbour.
Through the front door and into the sitting room are a few stone steps, where you can relax in comfort after a busy day of Dorset adventures. The bright spacious dining room provides a comfortable place to enjoy meals. The courtyard garden is accessed via double doors, perfect to enjoy a nice glass of wine in the evening summer sun. The bright, well-equipped kitchen has all you need to prepare tasty meals for the evenings. A spacious wet room is downstairs. The beautiful, picturesque Newton's Cove beach and Nothe Gardens are just a short stroll away, offering delightful panoramic views of Portland Harbour. The main beach and town in Weymouth is only a 5-10 minute walk away. If you want to explore further afield, the World Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are within a 30-minute drive to the East, the Isle of Portland a 15-minute drive and West Bay a 30-minute coastal road drive with stunning coastal views to the West. Fenders is in the perfect position as a base from which to explore much of Weymouth and the South West Coastal path on foot. Weymouth is a busy seaside town and lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Weymouth's golden sandy beach has received the Quality Coast Award. This is because of good quality water, well-developed facilities and beach supervision. There are plenty of supermarkets and a variety of shops. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants, offering a range of cuisines. As a result, you are spoilt for choice. Weymouth is famous for its fresh seafood. You can often see the local fishermen unloading their daily catch from the Harbour. It is from the harbour that you can pick up boat tours. These include a tour of the Jurassic coast and a water taxi from Weymouth to Portland.
Weymouth Attractions and Activities
Lodmoor Country Park is fantastic for the children and adults to explore and rest for a picnic. In addition, try your hand at crazy golf or let the children drive in the little go-kart track. Let the children loose in the Pirate Ship Play Park or the Green Gym. Slide down the wonky slide or walk the dog through the woodland paths. RSPB Nature Reserve is next to Lodmoore Park displaying details of all the Marsh birds in the area. Also, there is a cafe for refreshments after all the exploring. Sandworld is by the cycle path at Lodmoor park. Be amazed at the awesome sculptures made by local artists. You can let the children take turns to make their own sand sculpture. In addition, view smaller displays along the seafront. In conclusion, the attention to detail that goes into these will amaze you.
The Sea Life Centre is full of marine animals and much much more. The Centre is jam-packed full of fun rides and activities for the children. There are also rides galore along the seafront with arcades that stay open in the evenings. A little train will take you along the length of the seafront. Here you will find Donkey rides on the beach are available. Punch and Judy play on the seafront during the summer. A short walk away is the Nothe Fort which holds events for both adults and children. Weymouth is well known for the Red Arrows display which happens on Carnival Day. You can watch the action from the beach and see the fireworks from the bay. At night, colourful lasers light up the seafront and the promenade. The Pavillion theatre holds regular live shows.
