Located close to Weymouth harbour and Newtons Cove is this comfortably furnished two-bedroom cottage. Guinea Cottage is perfectly located a minute’s walk from the beautiful views of Newton’s Cove. Favoured by locals and children alike this little pebbly beach has great rock pools for crabbing.

Property Details

Guinea Cottage is located close to the popular Brewers Quay area of Weymouth and is just a short walk to the harbour, beach and town. Comfortably furnished, Guinea Cottage also benefits from a south-facing patio garden. Pubs, cafes and restaurants are dotted all around you leaving you with the hard choice of which one to go to. The cottage is also pet friendly.

The ground floor accommodation comprises of an open plan lounge/diner with flat-screen television and DVD player and dining table and chairs beneath a bright window. The kitchen includes fridge, freezer and washing machine and leads to a small lean-to conservatory.

Up to the first floor and bedroom one is a double and bedroom two a bunk room. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a good-sized back courtyard patio area with table and chairs. Parking permit for 1 car at local public car park two minutes away included.

Weymouth is a busy seaside town and lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Weymouth's golden sandy beach has received the Quality Coast Award. This is because of good quality water, well-developed facilities and beach supervision. There are plenty of supermarkets and a variety of shops. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants, offering a range of cuisines. As a result, you are spoilt for choice. Weymouth is famous for its fresh seafood. You can often see the local fishermen unloading their daily catch from the Harbour. It is from the harbour that you can pick up boat tours. These include a tour of the Jurassic coast and a water taxi from Weymouth to Portland.

Weymouth Attractions and Activities

Lodmoor Country Park is fantastic for the children and adults to explore and rest for a picnic. In addition, try your hand at crazy golf or let the children drive in the little go-kart track. Let the children loose in the Pirate Ship Play Park or the Green Gym. Slide down the wonky slide or walk the dog through the woodland paths. RSPB Nature Reserve is next to Lodmoore Park displaying details of all the Marsh birds in the area. Also, there is a cafe for refreshments after all the exploring. Sandworld is by the cycle path at Lodmoor park. Be amazed at the awesome sculptures made by local artists. You can let the children take turns to make their own sand sculpture. In addition, view smaller displays along the seafront. In conclusion, the attention to detail that goes into these will amaze you.

The Sea Life Centre is full of marine animals and much much more. The Centre is jam-packed full of fun rides and activities for the children. There are also rides galore along the seafront with arcades that stay open in the evenings. A little train will take you along the length of the seafront. Here you will find Donkey rides on the beach are available. Punch and Judy play on the seafront during the summer. A short walk away is the Nothe Fort which holds events for both adults and children. Weymouth is well known for the Red Arrows display which happens on Carnival Day. You can watch the action from the beach and see the fireworks from the bay. At night, colourful lasers light up the seafront and the promenade. The Pavillion theatre holds regular live shows.
