Holly Cottage is a lovely three bedroom cottage located in the sleepy Dorset village of Loders, with its welcoming pub, church and pretty stone-built thatched cottages gives the visitor a taste of a traditional English village which is set in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The property is comfortably furnished and tastefully finished whilst sleeping 4 guests, making this a perfect property for a relaxing break, whatever the season especially having a lovely log burner, even in winter this property will be a cosy retreat.

Outside the french doors of the kitchen with views over the surrounding countryside, this is an ideal spot to enjoy a summers evening

Loders is a pretty village in the heart of the stunning countryside, a short distance from Holly Cottage is the Loders Arms a classic West Dorset village pub with a welcoming atmosphere and a reputation for good food and fresh local produce. Cosy bar with open fireplace, restaurant, skittle alley, and lovely beer garden with stunning views over to Boarsbarrow Hill.

This lovely cottage is the perfect location for a family wanting a comfortable base for a holiday or couples seeking a romantic break or country retreat near the coast.

Wonderful walks around the village and up to the National Trust Eggardon Hill where you can enjoy commanding views of the surrounding countryside and distant views of the English Channel. Eggardon is a great place for walking and taking in the rich, green and undulating scenery, with many local dog-friendly walks in the area.

Bridport is 5 miles and West Bay (access to the amazing Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and where Broadchurch the TV series was filmed) just 7 miles away.

The Jurassic Coast is a must-visit for anyone interested in geology, history, photography or for just exploring the stunning coastal scenery along the 95-mile beautiful South West coastal footpath.

You could try some fossil Hunting in Charmouth or Lyme Regis and hopefully be lucky enough to find your own piece of history. Or take in the Sub Tropical Gardens of Abbotsbury, fishing trips, fossil hunting an of course no visit would be complete without a visit to Lyme Regis.

Area Details


Bridport is a small, busy market town on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The town has quite a few independent shops, a supermarket, cafes and restaurants. There are also local markets here each week. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, and museum. The museum includes an exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making amongst other exhibits. The town hosts the local food festival for a week at the end of June and ends with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August. Visit Palmers Thatched Brewery to sample local beers and ale. Explore Mangerton Mill which is still a working water mill, visit the tea rooms attached and finish off with a country walk by the river.
