Lychgate Cottage is a beautiful thatched cottage situated in the equally beautiful village of Osmington. The cottage dates back to the 1500s and is next to St Osmund's Church, sections of which date back to 1200. The local pub, the Smugglers Inn, has good eating and is about a 10 minute walk away with beautiful views over Weymouth Bay and on the route for the coast path. The walking here is spectacular with glorious coastal walks available leading to Ringstead, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Walking west will take you into Weymouth and the sandy beach. Lots of places to visit close by with the car as well including the Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World.
The accommodation at Lychgate Cottage comprises of a lounge/diner with TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi. The dining area has an oval table with seating for four. A few steps up to the kitchen equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and a range of accessories and utensils. Steps down take you to an additional lounge with patio doors leading to the outside. A cloakroom with basin and toilet rounds off the ground floor. Up some cottage stairs with limited headroom and you will find the two bedrooms arranged as a king-size double and a twin. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and toilet. There is also a separate toilet and basin.
Outside there is a patio area complete with table and chairs and a lawned area to the front of the cottage. Lychgate Cottage welcomes two small to medium dogs. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Osmington is a small village with narrow streets lined with picturesque thatched cottages. The village is very popular with walkers wanting to see the White Horse ingrained in the hillside. Built in 1808 to honour King George III, who was a frequent visitor to the area. The figure on the hillside depicts the King riding a horse who sadly did not survive long enough to see this famous landmark.
Osmington Mills is a 10-minute walk along the coast path. Soak in the stunning views along the way. Visit the very pretty and very popular pub The Smugglers. The pub tells tales of the French smuggler, Pierre Latour, in the 17th century. Sit back, take in the stunning views and the excellent home-cooked food. It is well worth a visit.
