Mill House is a fabulous Grade II listed house, located in Maiden Newton. It has six bedrooms; two king-size, two doubles and two twin – with three of the bedrooms have fireplaces. The house can sleep up to 12 people, and also consists of two bathrooms and a shower room. Also inside the house, you’ll find a kitchen/diner, sitting room, snug, and a games room. Off-road parking is available for three cars, while the enclosed back garden is adjacent to a stream that feeds the town’s historic mill. Mill House is a large Grade II listed former Mill House located in Maiden Newton near Dorchester. It is one of the oldest properties in the village and oozes character with many original features. The house accommodates 12 with ease including 2 living areas both giving access to the pretty garden. Maiden Newton has a village store and pub, The Chalk and Cheese and a restaurant, Le Petit Canard. Dorchester lies just 7 miles away and is an easy drive where you can find no less than 5 museums, a wide selection of pubs and restaurants catering for all levels of budget and tastes from around the world as well as being the site of England's largest hillfort at Maiden Castle. From here it is just a short hop to start exploring Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Relax on the award-winning sandy beach at Weymouth, partake in some watersports on Portland Harbour, go for a walk along the clifftops at Portland and finish with a cream tea or go and visit the location of Broadchurch at West Bay. The problem isn't what shall we do so much as what can we fit into just 7 days! All of this can also be enjoyed with one well-behaved dog as Mill House is pet-friendly.
The accommodation at Mill House is set over three floors and comprises of a sitting room with open fire and doors leading out to the garden with Freeview TV, selection of books, games and DVDs and WiFi-enabled throughout. There is a second living area, the snug, with additional comfy seating, open fire, doors to the garden and Freeview TV and a games room complete with a pool table. The kitchen/diner is large with a huge table capable of seating all 12 guests at once and equipped with an AGA, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There are six bedrooms in total arranged as a super king-size double, a king-size double, 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with shower over bath, basin, toilet and bidet and the other a roll top bath with separate shower, basin and toilet. A shower room has a shower, basin and toilet. A cot, highchair and stairgate can be provided.
Outside is a pretty garden with a stream, patio area, garden furniture and a barbecue. There is off-road parking for three cars with additional parking available for free at the village hall. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Maiden Newton is a town-sized village with the River Frome running through it. Maiden Newton has developed as a pretty village with a blend of old and new buildings. A petrol station with a supermarket attached, a few independent shops and a pub mean you can walk to all amenities.
The neighbouring village of Cattistock has a fully enclosed park and play area beside the pub. The Fox and Hounds is directly opposite the playground which offers homecooked food and is dog friendly. The village of Sydling St. Nicholas is stunningly picturesque. The village follows along the little Sydling Water with tiny connecting bridges. Ancient thatched cottages line the bank - well worth a visit. Dorchester is a 15 minute car journey away so here you can experience the sedate country way of life, knowing that the hustle of bustle of town life is never far away.
