Description

A character cottage offering comfortable, no-frills accommodation and set amongst similar older properties just a few minutes walk from the town centre and beaches. Milton cottage is believed to date from the 19th century and still retains some of its historic character. The pretty and un-spoilt Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis has many independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as a sandy beach, harbour and seafront promenade. It's a great destination for a relaxing, traditional seaside holiday. This is also the perfect base from which to explore the whole World Heritage Coast of West Dorset and East Devon.  The South West Coast Path passes close to this cottage and is well worth exploring in either direction.

As well as a sandy beach and seafront promenade, Lyme Regis includes celebrity chef Mark Hix's superb Oyster and Seafood Restaurant, along with many other restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms. The town is a wonderful location for those seeking a traditional seaside break. A wide selection of independent shops, as well as an award-winning museum, and a small theatre can be found. For the more adventurous the South West Coast Path heads west through the amazing Undercliff between Lyme Regis and Axmouth, or east towards Charmouth and the magnificent National Trust land at Golden Cap. If you are planning a holiday without a car, the mainline railway station in nearby Axminster is served by a regular bus service (or taxis), to and from the town.

There are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and pubs as well as three beaches and the famous Cob to explore.

The entrance hall opens to a cosy lounge with a feature bay window to the south which floods the room with natural light. Equipped with TV, Freeview, DVD player and stereo radio. A kitchen/diner is across the hall and offers a galley kitchen and larder with cooker, oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
First floor: Bedroom 1 with King-size double bed and views down Church Street. Bedroom 2 with twin 3ft beds. Family bathroom with shower over bath and W.C.

Nearest public parking 2 minute’s walk. The closest long stay car park in Lyme Regis is Charmouth Road (DT7 3DW) which is within walking distance of the property, town centre and seafront.

Lyme Regis, nicknamed 'The Pearl of Dorset' lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and is near Charmouth and the Devon border. Lyme Regis is a historic seaside resort and fishing port and boasts breathtaking scenery, making it a resort for all seasons. The town is famous for its fossils, often found on its beaches and cliffs. In fact, it was in the cliffs that the famous Ichthyosaur was discovered by Mary Anning, the daughter of a local fossil collector. She went on to find a complete Plesiosaur and the well-preserved remains of a flying reptile. Book a fossil walks with local experts to ensure you are both safe and full of knowledge by the end. The famous harbour wall known as 'The Cobb' featured in the film and novel of The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Lyme Regis is a great place to eat out and has a wide variety covering the globe as well as price. From traditional fish and chips to Asian fusion, Indian, Italian, Spanish and British. For foodies try Robin Wylde and their amazing taste menus. The Whole Hog will have you feeling full with excellent roasts while Red Panda offers Asian as well as a traditional British menu.
