Situated in the heart of Dorset’s beautiful landscape of rolling hills and open farmland affording wonderful walking, there is a network of footpaths directly from the property. The area offers a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and a coastline that has world heritage status. The pretty market town of Shaftesbury, which itself is home to Gold Hill, known to many as “Hovis Hill” as it was used in the 70’s television adverts for Hovis bread, is 5 minutes away. The popular seaside resorts of Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are worth a visit. Other attractions include Hayes Motor Museum, Longleat House and Safari Park, the beautiful gardens at Stourhead House, Salisbury Cathedral, Yeovilton Air Arm Museum and Monkey World.

Entering the property from the private terrace you are met by the charming galley kitchen, which leads to the beautiful open-plan lounge/diner with oak flooring and exposed beams. Here you can cosy up in front of the wood burner and watch the Smart TV or your favourite DVD. The lounge/diner leads to the well-equipped galley kitchen with an electric oven and hob, Lavazza coffee machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and door to the private terrace. There is also a wet room with shower and WC, conveniently located on this floor too. Heading upstairs you will find two bedrooms, a king-size bedroom with a dormer window, TV and a twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a super-king-size on request) with TV. There is also an additional bunk bedroom with TV which can be prepared for a small extra cost at time of booking. These beautiful bedrooms all boast countryside views and character features including exposed stonework and beams. There is also a bathroom on this floor with a bath, separate shower and WC.

Venturing outside you will find a private terrace directly outside the kitchen door, perfect for outside dining with garden furniture and a BBQ and a wood-fired hot tub. There are large shared gardens all enjoying the fabulous countryside views. Have fun in the shared open-sided games barn with table tennis and table football. Ample off-road parking is available in the gravelled parking area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Shaftesbury is one of the highest and oldest towns in England, a beautiful town sitting in a glorious landscape. The town is the home of Gold Hill, made famous by the “Hovis” advert and with views across the Blackmore Vale and thatched cottages, it is very picturesque. The main shopping is around the High Street where there are lots of small, independent retailers as well as coffee shops and cafes and you will find craft shops down the side streets. Shaftsbury market takes place on Thursdays and sells local produce, all against the backdrop of Gold Hill and spectacular views.

In July, the Gold Hill Fair is a weekend event with music, dance and more. In June, join in with the Shaftesbury festival. This is a weeklong celebration, enjoy music, entertainment and even dog shows - fun for all the family. At the end of August visit the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show. This has over 500 exhibitors and a host of events making this a fantastic day out for all the family, jam-packed with entertainment for all ages.

Longleat House, the Safari and Adventure Park, is a great day out and is just a 30 minute drive away. You can see lions, tigers, wolves, cheetahs and a whole host of other animals. There are seasonal events and tours on offer or visit the house and gardens. Explore Old Wardour Castle, run by English Heritage. The castle featured in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, find the turrets and the views from the top of the castle to beautiful countryside beyond.
