Ocean Swell is a well-presented seaside cottage situated in the town of Weymouth in Dorset and benefits from spacious accommodation over three floors. The cottage can sleep 6 people in 2 twin singles and 1 double bedroom as well as a shower room. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room. To the outside of the cottage is on-road parking on a first-come-first-served basis and a patio to the rear with garden furniture. Located close to the harbour and town centre at Weymouth Ocean Swell is a very well-presented cottage for up to 6 guests. Only a short distance from Weymouth's popular beaches it is a good base from which to discover the Jurassic Coast for families and couples alike.
Ocean Swell can accommodate up to six guests in the three bedrooms spread over three floors. On the first floor, with shower room, you will discover the two twin single rooms and the double bedroom is located on the top floor. The stairs are quite narrow to both floors. The sitting area on the ground floor is huge, so you have plenty of space to unwind after an exhausting day out exploring the area. On a sunny day, you can enjoy an afternoon outside on the patio, relax with a good book and have a cold drink.
Ocean Swell is in the perfect location for access to the Harbour, Hope Square and Weymouth's long golden beach. Walk down to Hope Square where you will find numerous restaurants, tea rooms and pubs. Stroll through the square to reach the pretty Old Harbour. Weymouth’s award-winning beach has shallow waters which entice bathers. Traditional beach attractions such as donkey rides, Punch and Judy and trampolines entice the children and make your beach experience more memorable.
With numerous activities available in Weymouth from boat trips around the coast, visiting the Nothe Fort or a day at the Sea Life Centre it is possible to have fun-filled days throughout your holiday. If the weather is not so sunny Weymouth offers a nine-screen cinema, ten pin bowling or indoor play area for the children.
A short drive from Weymouth you will find the beautiful and rugged the Isle of Portland with many walks inland and the South West Coast path surrounding the isle if you feel energised maybe walk along the Rodwell Trail to Portland passing the ruins of Sandsfoot Castle. West Bay with beautiful sand cliffs or Lyme Regis – pretty town loved by fossil hunting enthusiasts are both fantastic days out. Travel east and you will discover one of the most photographed places in UK – Durdle Door arc and Lulworth cove. This is because of good quality water, well-developed facilities and beach supervision. There are plenty of supermarkets and a variety of shops. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants, offering a range of cuisines. As a result, you are spoilt for choice. Weymouth is famous for its fresh seafood. You can often see the local fishermen unloading their daily catch from the Harbour. It is from the harbour that you can pick up boat tours. These include a tour of the Jurassic coast and a water taxi from Weymouth to Portland.
Weymouth Attractions and Activities
Lodmoor Country Park is fantastic for the children and adults to explore and rest for a picnic. In addition, try your hand at crazy golf or let the children drive in the little go-kart track. Let the children loose in the Pirate Ship Play Park or the Green Gym. Slide down the wonky slide or walk the dog through the woodland paths. RSPB Nature Reserve is next to Lodmoore Park displaying details of all the Marsh birds in the area. Also, there is a cafe for refreshments after all the exploring. Sandworld is by the cycle path at Lodmoor park. Be amazed at the awesome sculptures made by local artists. You can let the children take turns to make their own sand sculpture. In addition, view smaller displays along the seafront. In conclusion, the attention to detail that goes into these will amaze you.
The Sea Life Centre is full of marine animals and much much more. The Centre is jam-packed full of fun rides and activities for the children. There are also rides galore along the seafront with arcades that stay open in the evenings. A little train will take you along the length of the seafront. Here you will find Donkey rides on the beach are available. Punch and Judy play on the seafront during the summer. A short walk away is the Nothe Fort which holds events for both adults and children. Weymouth is well known for the Red Arrows display which happens on Carnival Day. You can watch the action from the beach and see the fireworks from the bay. At night, colourful lasers light up the seafront and the promenade. The Pavillion theatre holds regular live shows.
