This beautiful detached stone cottage is set in the amazing county of Dorset, within the Kingcombe Centre Nature reserve, owned and managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust and an AONB. Enjoy direct access to the acres of land and walking routes belonging to the Kingcombe nature reserve and share a wonderful adventure with your family in the south-west of England.
Walk into the sitting room where you'll be impressed by the large brick fireplace, now home to a modern woodburning stove that sits next to the original bread oven, a unique feature compared to many other holiday accommodation. Enjoy family meals sat around the dining table, with food lovingly prepared in the contemporary kitchen you'll find everything you need to cook up a storm. When you're ready for bed after a long day of exploring, head upstairs to the double room, perfect for a couple, or if you're holidaying with a friend, simply make use of the sofa-bed to convert the room to a twin. Also upstairs is the shower room with a shower cubicle, basin and WC, so you can wake up and get a refreshing shower in the morning.
This property benefits from an orchard enclosed which is used for access to the wildlife reserve. Pound Cottage has wonderful character with exposed wooden beams and brickwork, echoing the country surroundings, and providing a home-from-home for guests.

Maiden Newton is a town-sized village with the River Frome running through it. Maiden Newton has developed as a pretty village with a blend of old and new buildings. A petrol station with a supermarket attached, a few independent shops and a pub mean you can walk to all amenities.
The neighbouring village of Cattistock has a fully enclosed park and play area beside the pub. The Fox and Hounds is directly opposite the playground which offers homecooked food and is dog friendly. The village of Sydling St. Nicholas is stunningly picturesque. The village follows along the little Sydling Water with tiny connecting bridges. Ancient thatched cottages line the bank - well worth a visit. Dorchester is a 15 minute car journey away so here you can experience the sedate country way of life, knowing that the hustle of bustle of town life is never far away.
