This Grade II listed, former fisherman’s cottage enjoys all the amenities Swanage has to offer right on its doorstep. It’s within walking distance of the attractive Victorian pier, a lovely sandy beach, and small shops, bars and restaurants. It’s not far from the Steam Railway, which links the town with the historic village of Corfe Castle. Further afield, you can explore Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth.
Step into the stone cottage and feel immediately at home. Curl up on one of the comfortable sofas and relax in front of the open fire. There’s a TV/DVD for your entertainment – perfect for rainy days or a quiet evening in. The kitchen has everything you could need during your stay, including a gas hob, electric cooker, integrated microwave, fridge and dishwasher, while you’ll find a washing machine and freezer in the utility room. Enjoy dinner as a family or group in the open-plan dining room. On the ground floor is a shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find a delightful double bedroom and charming twin, as well as another shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. The second flight of stairs leads to a king-size double bedroom, which boasts beautiful views across the sea to the Isle of Wight. A folding bed (at an additional cost) or travel cot can be added to this room if required.
Outside is a walled and gated courtyard with garden furniture, making it an ideal spot for al fresco dining or morning coffee. Within the courtyard is a raised area with parking space for one car. Children must be closely supervised in the courtyard as there is an unfenced drop between the parking area and garden.

Swanage is a large, pretty, coastal town on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The town has an array of shops, cafes and restaurants and is a great base for exploring what Swanage and the surrounding areas have to offer. Enjoy the charm and the atmosphere of the town, join in with regatta in the summer months. For those walking enthusiasts, enjoy amazing views along this stretch of the South West Coast Path. The chalky cliffs of Old Harry's Rock are spectacular and are well worth your time to visit. The rocks mark the most eastern point of the Jurassic Coast. Visit Durleston Country Park and Nature Reserve and explore the 320 acres of stunning countryside. Discover the vast species of wildlife and marvel at the spectacular views. There are plenty of water sports to try out here and great waters to try them out in.
Swanage beach is 4 miles of golden, sandy beach. Sheltered waters, and lifeguards patrolling the beach in the summer months, makes it very popular with families. This beach holds the prestigious Blue flag award for beach cleanliness. Why not hire out a traditional beach hut for the duration of your stay, this will save you carrying your beach luggage everywhere. Pedalos can be hired on the beach as can deckchairs, although dogs are not allowed on this beach from May to September. Pier Beach is a tiny sand and shingle beach near the traditional pier, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. The clear waters make it great for snorkelling or angling. Dogs are allowed on this beach all year.
Swanage Railway is a fantastic and exciting way to see the Isle of Purbeck in style. This heritage railway has a steam and diesel train running the five and a half miles from Norden. It takes in Corfe Castle and Swanage with picnic tables at most stations for you to make the most of the day. Take a day trip to Corfe Castle, explore the castle and then make the return journey back. At Christmas, join the Swanage railway for a magical Christmas adventure for not only the children to enjoy but the adults too.
