Rowdens Barn is a single-storey cottage in a lawned courtyard setting, a mile from Winterborne Stickland and four miles from Blandford Forum. The cottage has a king-size double and a twin along with a bathroom. The open plan living area has a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a wood burner. Outside is ample off road parking, a private patio area, shared lawn and shared games room with pool table, table football and air hockey. Rowdens Barn is close to local walks, pretty villages and bustling market towns, as well as for exploring the Jurassic Coast and the rest of this lovely area.

Located 1 mile from Winterborne Stickland the barn sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is grouped around a courtyard setting with the other properties on the owner's 1350 acre working farm. All the barns have been converted to a very high standard with furnishings to match as reflected in their 5-star rating by Visit England.

The accommodation at Rowdens Barn is all on the ground floor and comprises of living area with wood burning stove, Freesat TV, DVD player, selection of books and games and WiFi which can sometimes be slow. The dining area has a table and chairs and the kitchen comes well equipped with an electric oven with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The two bedrooms have been arranged as a king-size double and a twin. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, basin and toilet. There is also a shared games room on site with a pool table, table football and air hockey.

Outside there is a private patio area complete with furniture and a shared front lawned area as well as covered bike storage. Rowdens Barn accepts two well-behaved dogs and there is ample parking available. A shop and pub is just 1 mile away. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Blandford Forum

Blandford Forum is the most complete, small Georgian town in England, set on the banks of the River Stour. Fires destroyed the town in the eighteenth century and the town gradually rebuilt. Today, the town is now a fascinating example of Georgian architecture. Read all about the history of the town and the devasting fire in the local museum.

The town has a charming parish church and a wonderful marketplace. Surrounding the marketplace are an assortment of local independent shops and well-known "brand" shops as well as cafes, pubs, and supermarkets. The town also has indoor and outdoor markets each week. Blandford Forum is home to one of Dorset’s breweries – Hall & Woodhouse. Drop in for a tour of the brewery, sample, or buy the famous "Badger Beer".

There are a few trails to try around the town, cycle along the old trailway between Blandford and Sturminster Newton taking in fabulous Dorset scenery all the way. At Shillingstone is a cafe, offering needed refreshment for your trip back. Have a bite to eat in the cafe, alfresco, or in the restored buffet coach.

By far the biggest event in the area is the annual Great Dorset Steam Fair held at the end of August. The event has grown every year and now sits on a 600-acre site. It is the leading show of its kind in the world, attracting a lot of international attention. Fun for all the family with various entertainments and music to suit all ages and an old-time steam funfair.
For those adventurers, try Gorcombe Extreme Sports in the nearby village of Thornicombe. Here you find Quad biking, paintball, dirt buggies, an extreme assault course, and clay shooting. After a long day, stop for a cream tea and explore the well-stocked farm shop full of delightful local produce.
