Move just 0.5 miles inland from Lulworth Cove and you’ll find this delightful thatched cottage waiting to be discovered for a holiday you’ll never forget. Quietly situated in a secluded cul de sac location, this beautiful retreat is only a short stroll from the beautiful Dorset coastline, including the famous Durdle Door. Less than 3 miles from Lulworth Castle and approximately 9 miles to Wareham, it’s the perfect base to plan your next adventure. Whether you spend your days taking it easy by the ocean, hiking on the coastal path or visiting the local attractions, this cottage is an idyllic spot to end every day.
Entering the property, you’ll be instantly struck by the light and space opening up in front of you. With carpeted stairs ascending to the first floor on the left, the doors lead to the large lounge and kitchen/diner which wait to be explored. Moving to the kitchen on the right, you’ll be flooded with sunlight from the triple aspect kitchen/diner which is decorated in a farmhouse style and features an impressive range cooker. Moving through into the lounge, there s a decorative wood burner and wooden beams to accentuate the traditional cottage style. Crash out with the family on the ample, soft sofas and relax with a DVD or two. At bedtime, climb easily up the wide stairs and enjoy a restful night s dreaming amongst plump pillow and crisp, clean bedsheets.
To the rear of the property, there s a private enclosed garden which can either be reached from the kitchen door or by throwing open the French doors in the lounge. Steps lead down to a paved patio area where you’ll find a table and chairs. Take it easy and enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine, or perhaps a glass of wine as the sun sets on another fabulous day. Leading on from the patio is a lawn with paved flagstones leading to the garden gate. There’s parking for one vehicle in the carport, but a second car can easily fit in behind.

Lulworth is a quaint village with many traditional cottages. The village is full of shops and restaurants. Lulworth Cove is a horse-shoe shaped cove. The cove formed 10,000 years ago by the power of river and sea and is a pebble beach and very sheltered. Visit the Heritage Centre and learn about the smugglers. Taste the delights of a traditional Dorset fudge and sweetshop. Relax in the tea garden and ice cream parlour in the lane leading down to the cove. From here you are within walking distance of Durdle Door. Or, visit Durdle Door by boat. Lulworth has 3 pubs, The Castle Inn, Man O War which is dog friendly, and the Lulworth Cove Inn. The pubs are very popular in the summer months, so it would be advisable to phone ahead. The shingle beach at Durdle Door can shelve in places but the beach has excellent water quality. You will also find the ever-popular Durdle Door Ice Cream Kiosk. East Lulworth is a short 5-minute drive away or travel west and discover Ringstead.
Camp Bestival takes place at Lulworth Castle in East Lulworth every year from the end of July for 3 days. With face painting, bouncy castles to medieval jousting, there is plenty to do and see. There are four main stages for the music acts which are jam-packed over three days. There are DJ sets, comedy, theatre and shows, attractions and activities and plenty of food. If you are looking for a festival that is for all the family and diverse then look no further. Lulworth Castle is set in the stunning grounds of the Lulworth Estate. The historic castle, restored by English Heritage after a devastating fire, is open all year round. In the grounds, there are woodland walks and a children's playground.
