Nestled between the riverside Saxon market town of Wareham and villages of Bovington and Wool, home to some of Dorset’s most loved attractions from the Tank Museum to Monkey World. This is a wonderful opportunity to stay in this charming Hansel and Gretel style cottage. It is an ideal retreat for an artist/writer hideaway as it is located within 2.5 acres of woodland and offers peace, tranquillity and inspiration. If it’s more a romantic getaway you re looking for, then look no further. It will not disappoint you with many a country pub or restaurant nearby that will embellish your taste buds.

A pretty trellis porch welcomes you to the gothic front door of this enchanting cottage. Beyond the entrance hall, you will find yourself in the dining room with table and chairs for everyone to sit together. Flagstone flooring and exposed beams are throughout the cottage. Head around the corner into the sitting room which is equally as charming and cosy up whilst enjoying some evening TV. The kitchen comes equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave and Smeg fridge freezer. There is a garden room that leads off the kitchen boasting underfloor heating and a stable door leading onto the garden terrace. The bathroom with slipper bath and rain forest over bath shower and WC complete the ground floor. Make your way up the cottage staircase to the first floor where you will find the master bedroom with double bed and en suite WC, across the landing a twin room. Both bedrooms are complete with built in storage offering you plenty of space for your holiday wardrobe.

Set in over 2 acres of grounds and Bluebell Woodland, that lead down to a stream, there’s so much space to enjoy here. An attractive Purbeck stone terrace wraps sympathetically around the rear of the property. There is also a large summerhouse situated on the paddock lawn area where deer roam freely from the woodland, (summer house will be open to visitors from spring 2021). Ample parking on the private driveway and undercover in the high car barn ideal for boats

Wool is a small and peaceful village near Bovington and Wareham. Dotted with quaint thatched cottages, this village is very photogenic. The River Frome runs through here and on the banks you can spot the 17th-century Woolbridge Manor where "Tess of the D'ubervilles spent her honeymoon night in the Thomas Hardy novel. There is a convenience store here and 2 pubs. Visit The Tank Museum a little drive away, in Bovington. Discover how the tanks advanced through the years, experience an action display and take a ride in a tank. For those who enjoy walking, pick up the Lawerence of Arabia trail. Explore the flat, 7 mile trail and stop for refreshments in the tea rooms along the way at Moreton. West Lulworth and Durdle Door are within driving distance.
