Nestling in 800 acres of Dorset farmland, this superb property offers fantastic rural walks from the doorstep and the quaint, historic village of Yetminster is just one mile away along the country lanes, which offers a pub, shop and local café. The perfect base for exploring this idyllic part of the county, the local area boasts a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and World Heritage status coastline along the Jurassic Coast. For a spot of retail therapy, the picturesque towns of Sherborne and Dorchester are both within easy reach, while culture lovers should head for one of the many nearby National Trust properties and grounds. For beach lovers, head to the popular seaside towns of Weymouth with its sandy beach and the harbour town of West Bay. There are many more attractions to visit including Monkey World, Abbotsbury Swannery, Corfe Castle, Bovington Tank Museum, Lulworth Cove and Castle, Durdle Door, as well as gastro pubs and restaurants to try out in the area.

Arranged over one level, this delightful property is light and airy with high vaulted ceilings, wooden flooring with underfloor heating, exposed beams and floor to ceiling windows which allow the light to flood in. In the spacious and modern kitchen area, you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoy relaxed meals around the dining table which sits in sunlight nearby and overlooks the patio outside. After a long day exploring the surrounding countryside, unwind on the comfortable sofas in the lounge area and enjoy a good book from the bookshelf, watch a film on the Smart TV/DVD, or simply relax and listen to the iPod dock. There are two beautifully decorated bedrooms, each displaying exposed beams, elegant window shutters and wooden flooring. Both bedrooms are en-suite for your convenience and there is also a Smart TV in each room. One bedroom is a super-king-size with an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. The other bedroom benefits from a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be made into a twin on request, along with an en-suite wetroom with WC.

Moving outside there is a spacious enclosed gravelled garden with a south-facing patio, table and chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ for enjoying slow summer afternoons. There is also a shed for storing bikes and surfboards during your stay. Ample off-road parking is available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Sherborne is a pretty, historic market town in Dorset. It is on the edge of the Blackmore Vale which commands the most spectacular views. Full of ancient and beautiful buildings, Sherbourne Abbey, and two Castles, there is always something to see. The town itself has a great selection of independent and unique shops. There is a good choice of friendly cafes and restaurants in the town. Sherbourne hosts "Pack Monday" every Monday in October. This closes off four of Sherborne's streets and fills them with food stalls and local traders while on the edge of town is a funfair.

Sir Walter Raleigh built Sherborne Castle and Gardens, a stunning castle in stunning surroundings. There are 42 acres of gardens and a 50 acre lake, the gardens themselves are now Grade I listed. The Castle holds a variety of events throughout the year including firework extravaganza, country fairs, classic car rallies, and even wine fairs. Sherborne Abbey is today one of England's most beautiful parish churches. Visitors come for many reasons, some the music, some the bells with the heaviest peal of eight bells in the world. Most visit for the amazing architecture including the amazing fan-vaulted ceiling. Sherborne has another castle, this time lying in ruin, but with fascinating history and great views over the surrounding villages.

Visit the 15th Century Almshouse or go fossil hunting in the Jurassic cliff faces of Quarr Nature Reserve. The Fleet Air Museum and Haynes Motor Museum are a short drive away. Minterne Gardens is stunning, explore these beautiful, tranquil settings and relax with refreshments in the cafe.
