Set in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, midway between the historic towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury, this is an ideal touring base. Both these towns offer something for everyone with a good selection of pubs, cafes and shops. Visit Shaftesbury’s famous Gold Hill, Sherborne’s beautiful Abbey and Castle. There is an abundance of routes suitable for walking within this picturesque landscape. Accessible attractions include Stourhead, Salisbury Cathedral, The Longleat Estate, Stonehenge and Haynes Motor Museum, the Jurassic Coast, Corfe Castle, Dorchester, Weymouth, Monkey World and the Tank Museum.

A shared driveway leads to the private gated entrance into this semi-detached property. Once inside you are met with a generous hallway with a useful separate WC. There is a farmhouse style kitchen/diner to your left, which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A pantry houses the freezer. Heading back into the hallway you will find a utility room with a washing machine and an inviting lounge with a TV and wood burner. Stairs rise from the hallway to the first floor. There is a pretty twin bedroom set to the front adjacent to a family bathroom. There are three bedrooms set to the rear. The first a charming double with an en suite shower room. The second also a double boasts a fantastic en suite bathroom/dressing room. The third is a light and characterful bunk room. All enjoy far-reaching views with large picture windows.

Heading outside via the hallway to the rear there is a patio with furniture and a lawn with lovely views. To the front of the property, there is ample off-road parking and a further generous enclosed lawn.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Shaftesbury is one of the highest and oldest towns in England, a beautiful town sitting in a glorious landscape. The town is the home of Gold Hill, made famous by the “Hovis” advert and with views across the Blackmore Vale and thatched cottages, it is very picturesque. The main shopping is around the High Street where there are lots of small, independent retailers as well as coffee shops and cafes and you will find craft shops down the side streets. Shaftsbury market takes place on Thursdays and sells local produce, all against the backdrop of Gold Hill and spectacular views.

In July, the Gold Hill Fair is a weekend event with music, dance and more. In June, join in with the Shaftesbury festival. This is a weeklong celebration, enjoy music, entertainment and even dog shows - fun for all the family. At the end of August visit the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show. This has over 500 exhibitors and a host of events making this a fantastic day out for all the family, jam-packed with entertainment for all ages.

Longleat House, the Safari and Adventure Park, is a great day out and is just a 30 minute drive away. You can see lions, tigers, wolves, cheetahs and a whole host of other animals. There are seasonal events and tours on offer or visit the house and gardens. Explore Old Wardour Castle, run by English Heritage. The castle featured in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, find the turrets and the views from the top of the castle to beautiful countryside beyond.
