The Lodge has been built on the first floor of an attractive barn conversion and has been thoughtfully planned to provide everything you could wish for in a really comfortable holiday property. A spacious bedroom with a king-size bed and delightful views is complemented by a comfortable open plan living/dining room with a fitted kitchen. Full central heating is included making this a wonderful year-round retreat. Set in six acres of grounds, including wild meadows and a small lake (coarse fishing allowed), guests are free to wander and enjoy the abundance of wildlife that is encouraged by the welcoming owner.

One of three holiday properties on this site, The Lodge is located on the grounds of a 17th-century former manor house at Monkton Wyld, just north of the A35 on the Dorset/Devon border. The pretty West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is about 3.5 miles to the south and the attractive East Devon market town of Axminster, home to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's popular River Cottage shop and restaurant, is about 4.5 miles to the west. Walkers will be drawn to this wonderful location with a wealth of walking countryside, including quiet laneways to Charmouth Woods and the Marshwood Vale right on the doorstep, and access to the beautiful South West Coastal footpath only a few miles away. Those preferring to explore the area by car will find themselves well placed to easily access the many attractions of East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset. Lyme Regis, nicknamed 'The Pearl of Dorset' lies on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and is near Charmouth and the Devon border. Lyme Regis is a historic seaside resort and fishing port and boasts breathtaking scenery, making it a resort for all seasons. The town is famous for its fossils, often found on its beaches and cliffs. In fact, it was in the cliffs that the famous Ichthyosaur was discovered by Mary Anning, the daughter of a local fossil collector. She went on to find a complete Plesiosaur and the well-preserved remains of a flying reptile. Book a fossil walks with local experts to ensure you are both safe and full of knowledge by the end. The famous harbour wall known as 'The Cobb' featured in the film and novel of The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Lyme Regis is a great place to eat out and has a wide variety covering the globe as well as price. From traditional fish and chips to Asian fusion, Indian, Italian, Spanish and British.
