Located in West Lulworth, just 1 mile from beautiful Lulworth Cove, this attractive cottage is the ideal holiday let if you want to experience rural and coastal life. Wander the Purbeck Hills straight from your door, or pop down the South West Coast Path to Durdle Door (1.5 miles) to see one of Dorset’s most photographed landmarks. But if you fancy a day in, you can still experience the stunning scenery around you, soaking up the sun in the south-facing garden looking out across the hills.
Inside, a beautiful bright hallway greets you with stairs leading up to the first floor and a piano tucked underneath. The living and dining area through to the right boasts superb wooden flooring and comfy sofas to curl up onto in front of the brick-enclosed wood burner in the evenings. Enjoy a wonderful home-cooked meal at the table that comfortably fits eight, with lovely views outside. Move into the sunroom and sit soaking up the sun with views of the garden. In the kitchen, pretty exposed stone walls complement the farmhouse-style cupboards and island, and you’ll find everything to cook up a storm including a range cooker. A washing machine and drier in the back entrance hall means there’s no need to worry about muddy walks! Across the hallway, you’ll find a double bedroom and a zip-and-link king-size room; both have a boutique feel with peaceful whites, blues and greys. The double has a spacious en-suite shower room that makes fantastic use of space, while next door a family bathroom features a vintage-style freestanding bath and WC. Upstairs, the landing has a handy clothes rail for your coats and two bedrooms off of it that both have reduced height at the eaves; calming decor features in one double room with an en-suite shower room, while the other twin bedroom has warming orange tones and an en-suite with a bath, WC and cute children’s rocking chair!
Outside, a terrace with patio furniture makes for an ideal spot to enjoy a summer evening while you sizzle up a BBQ, and steps lead up steeply to pretty trees and shrubs and three terraces where you can enjoy fantastic views of the Purbeck Hills.

Lulworth is a quaint village with many traditional cottages. The village is full of shops and restaurants. Lulworth Cove is a horse-shoe shaped cove. The cove formed 10,000 years ago by the power of river and sea and is a pebble beach and very sheltered. Visit the Heritage Centre and learn about the smugglers. Taste the delights of a traditional Dorset fudge and sweetshop. Relax in the tea garden and ice cream parlour in the lane leading down to the cove. From here you are within walking distance of Durdle Door. Or, visit Durdle Door by boat. Lulworth has 3 pubs, The Castle Inn, Man O War which is dog friendly, and the Lulworth Cove Inn. The pubs are very popular in the summer months, so it would be advisable to phone ahead. The shingle beach at Durdle Door can shelve in places but the beach has excellent water quality. You will also find the ever-popular Durdle Door Ice Cream Kiosk. East Lulworth is a short 5-minute drive away or travel west and discover Ringstead.
Camp Bestival takes place at Lulworth Castle in East Lulworth every year from the end of July for 3 days. With face painting, bouncy castles to medieval jousting, there is plenty to do and see. There are four main stages for the music acts which are jam-packed over three days. There are DJ sets, comedy, theatre and shows, attractions and activities and plenty of food. If you are looking for a festival that is for all the family and diverse then look no further. Lulworth Castle is set in the stunning grounds of the Lulworth Estate. The historic castle, restored by English Heritage after a devastating fire, is open all year round. In the grounds, there are woodland walks and a children's playground. After, why not relax with a picnic while the kids play.
