The Old Reading Room is a stone semi-detached cottage situated in the village of Langton Herring near to the town of Weymouth in Dorset in a quiet location close to Fleet Lagoon. The cottage can sleep 5 people in a king-size double, twin single and single with en-suite shower as well as a family bathroom. The rest of the cottage is made up of a kitchen/dining/sitting room. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for 1 car and a landscaped garden with furniture. The Old Reading Room is suitable for family or couples who enjoy walking and being close to nature.
The Old Reading Room is a semi-detached stone cottage on the edge of the picturesque village of Langton Herring. Perfectly located to explore the Jurassic Coast while being in a rural setting surrounded by countryside, you can explore along the Fleet Lagoon Nature Reserve which is just a short walk away which is a paradise for birds and one of the world's few natural lagoon. The South West Coast Path is close by so you can continue to explore the coast on foot if you wish towards Abbotsbury in one direction and Portland in the other. The walking along country routes is very good which can be enjoyed with your pet as The Old Reading Room accepts one well-behaved pet. With very low ambient light in the area, it is also an excellent place to sit back and admire the galaxy.
The accommodation at The Old Reading Room comprises of ground floor bedrooms of a king-size double, a twin with a family bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and toilet. Up to the first floor where there is a single bedroom with en suite shower room. The open plan living area has a log burner, TV and WiFi with the kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer box, dishwasher, washing machine and a range of accessories and utensils. The dining area can comfortably seat six.
Outside is a pretty garden with a seating area. There is off-road parking for one car. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Langton Herring is a small, but very pretty village. The village has a few original 17th and 18th century thatched cottages. It is quite a draw for artists and photographers. Known as the "thankful village" Langton Herring was one of the few villages spared any fatalities in the Great War. The village's local pub, The Elm Tree, offers excellent home-cooked food. It has a large beer garden, a large paddock for extra parking and is dog friendly. The pub has stories of smuggling and a possible hidden cellar used for contraband.
