The Old Smithy is an attractive, semi-detached farm cottage set on the edge of the small sleepy hamlet of Dottery near Bridport in West Dorset. With a king-size double and twin bedroom, the property can sleep up to four people. There’s also a ground floor bathroom, along with a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room with a wood burner. Outside, there is off road parking for 2 cars. The Old Smithy sits amongst charming countryside, with lots of pretty villages nearby.
The Old Smithy is a semi-detached former farmer's cottage on the outskirts of the hamlet of Dottery in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With great countryside views, there are many walks to be taken advantage of from your doorstep. Just a short drive away is Bridport with its markets but you are close to Lyme Regis with its sandy beach and fossils or West Bay, location for Broadchurch and the whole Jurassic Coast lies before you.
The accommodation at The Old Smithy comprises of a sitting room with wood burning stove, Freeview TV, DVD player, CD/radio, WiFi and a selection of books and games. There is a dining room with a table and chairs for four and a kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and toilet. There are two bedrooms arranged as a king-size double and a twin.
Outside there is a small garden laid to lawn. The Old Smithy accepts one well-behaved dog. Off-road parking for two cars is provided. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Bridport is a small, busy market town on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The town has quite a few independent shops, a supermarket, cafes and restaurants. There are also local markets here each week. Bridport has an arts centre, cinema, and museum. The museum includes an exhibition of the town's long history of rope-making amongst other exhibits. The town hosts the local food festival for a week at the end of June and ends with the Round Table Beer Festival. The town holds its annual carnival on the third Saturday in August. Visit Palmers Thatched Brewery to sample local beers and ale. Explore Mangerton Mill which is still a working water mill, visit the tea rooms attached and finish off with a country walk by the river.
